Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Apples: Peel and core the Granny Smith apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices.
  3. Wrap the Apples: Open the cans of crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Roll each apple slice in one crescent roll triangle, starting at the wider end. Pinch to seal and place in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until combined. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the apple dumplings.
  5. Add Cinnamon: Sprinkle ground cinnamon evenly over the top of the dumplings.
  6. Add Mountain Dew: Carefully pour the Mountain Dew soda around the edges of the baking dish, not directly over the dumplings. This helps create a delicious syrup.
  7. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
  8. Serve: Serve the apple dumplings warm, spooning some of the sauce from the bottom of the dish over the top. They are especially delightful with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Enjoy this comforting and scrumptious dessert that’s sure to become a family favorite!
