- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Tomato Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Prepare the Cabbage Leaves:
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Carefully remove the core from the cabbage. Place the cabbage head in the boiling water.
- As the outer leaves become tender, use tongs to remove them from the pot and set them aside to cool. Continue until you have about 12-14 large, tender cabbage leaves.
