    • 1 cup cooked rice
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 large egg, beaten
    • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Tomato Sauce:
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
    • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • 1 cup beef broth
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cabbage Leaves:
    • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
    • Carefully remove the core from the cabbage. Place the cabbage head in the boiling water.
    • As the outer leaves become tender, use tongs to remove them from the pot and set them aside to cool. Continue until you have about 12-14 large, tender cabbage leaves.
