EASY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and smooth.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  5. Form Cookies:
    • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
    • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • For chewier cookies, underbake them slightly, as they will continue to set as they cool on the baking sheet.
  • You can add nuts or use different types of chocolate chips (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate) to customize your cookies.
  • If you prefer a thicker cookie, chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before baking.
